Bordo al Centro is a material research project that recovers leather waste from furniture industries and transforms it into a new, continuous surface. By repurposing an edging machine, typically used for upholstery finishing, leather scraps are joined with a rope core and vegetable glue into strips, then sewn into three-dimensional surfaces that conceal imperfections while enhancing the natural qualities of the material. The resulting surface becomes the protagonist of a deck chair, footrest, and baskets, where the geometric structure acts as a minimal exhibitor, letting the material take centre stage.
